Hi, I’m Ed!

I started “DoorDashing” in December 2021 and I am gung-ho about doing the work and providing my customers with a good experience.

Like everybody else new to this field, I made a lot of mistakes and my learning curve was long.

One of these mistakes was being loyal to DoorDash. Yah, I fell for “the loyalty trap.” Several months into it I finally realized the truth — which is that the computer algorithm behind this app is built to optimize things for the company and its shareholders, not for me.

I signed up for the other two big food delivery apps and my learning curve continued.

Ultimately I came to understand there is an income plateau in this business. You reach a peak and then that’s it. You can’t rise any further. Probably most long-termers in this business go backwards. I am one of them.

So the best, most experienced gig workers see income reversion, no raises ever, and after being hit with “the fairness gap” one too many times, it’s not unusual for some to go back to having a regular job.

Then their replacements come in.

Brand new food delivery gig workers don’t fully realize it in the beginning, but they are dealing with an intentional, built-in training deficiency.

Why is that?

It’s for the purpose of exploiting the beginner’s lack of tradecraft in order to drive higher profitability for the app company. You know what I’m talking about… It’s how a lot of the crappy orders get delivered.

I came to have an epiphany…

By the way,

That’s my buddy Bob modeling my “delivery trainer” jacket (above).

We’ve been friends since 5th grade.

I came to realize there are two big things missing in food delivery gig work:

  1. Adequate training of new drivers. They are intentionally kept in the dark when it comes to optimizing their gig employment experience.

  2. Experienced drivers, despite their dedication and hard work, are far too often not provided with the ongoing fair and equitable treatment they deserve.

These are major shortcomings.

For both groups — there are roadblocks standing in the way of success and feelings of job satisfaction. They are pain points that have created an opportunity for the best of us to seize upon.

Now I know this is a bit crazy, and I’m really not like Charlie in “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” but this is how I see the situation…

Yah, it took me a long time to illustrate that…

You’ve probably figured out that I am advocating for the idea of becoming a trainer of newbies.

Becoming an independent in-field gig trainer specializing in the apps you already know is how I believe you FORCE equitable participation and seize better control over your money-making and happiness.

In this process, you shape better outcomes for the brand new gig workers you are teaching.

I have prepared a comprehensive program that’s as crazy as that diagram you just saw.

You pick one of those business card designs and I’ll have them printed for you.

Cost: $85 bucks.

Yah, that sounds expensive. But then I am going to give you a turbo-charged start.

See that link on the bottom of the cards?

That’s a “training service pitch page.” I’m going to set-up a pitch page for you. It will be hosted on GigCoach.net or a similar branded site. No need to struggle over coming up with your own sell page. My business card customers get a pitch page as part of the deal. Here is a sample pitch page. Check it out.

You also get….

  • 46 lesson slides you can use in your training. These slides also help to convey to your student that they are dealing with a professional trainer.

  • “The Trainer’s Deep Dive Lesson Expansion Guide” gives you more depth on the lesson slides, so that you have lots to talk about while going through the slides.

  • 14 expertly written correspondence email templates you can use in your communications with potential students to help clinch the sale of your service. This collection includes email templates for other important purposes too.

  • “The Weak Order Flow Training Toolkit.” If your training day turns into a slow day, this toolkit will help you to quickly adapt so that your student ends the day feeling like they got value for their money, even if you didn’t bang out a lot of deliveries.

  • A 42 day email training course TO GIVE TO YOUR STUDENTS that will further increase their sophistication, shorten their learning curve, and add to their feeling that the training fee they paid you was well worth it.

  • 2 press release templates you can use for the purpose of enticing local press coverage.

  • 20 ad template/wording ideas to help get your marketing started up.

  • 2 lead and customer management form pdf files. Wait till you see these… they are REALLY good! Staying organized is important.

  • You also get my sources for “Delivery” and “Delivery Trainer “ apparel.

  • And to help support the overall food delivery gig work ecosystem I’ve got the “Fair Deal Delivery Awareness Campaign,” which you help to support through your cooperation with me.

Is that nuts or what?

$85 bucks for 1000 business cards and you get all those extras.

(I spent most of 2024 working on this.)

Friends and family members continually could not believe how much time I was spending on "concept development." But I just kept getting more and more ideas and I could not stop.

I kept telling people I was 2 weeks away from the finish line... and then I would tweak things further. And then I would tweak AGAIN, and then add yet something else to my gig trainer services & support package.

Months went by. I took a few breaks here and there for some photography gigs and also a 10 day trip to Florida to hang out with my buddy Bob. (His house got trashed by the two hurricanes shortly after I left.)

After these pauses I would review my work. Things that I thought were initially good became no longer good enough. I’d start over.

During this entire project I was also out there grinding, doing delivery work 3 days a week, staying connected to the pulse of the industry. This helped keep the creativity going.

Those times when I was driving around doing deliveries also gave me additional time for contemplation and idea generation.

Now — finally — I am at the point where I feel satisfied, and I feel that what I have is unique and provides tremendous value.

What I am giving you is:

  • ideas

  • structure

  • inspiration

  • guidance

  • and support

After I receive your business card order, I am going to send you a link to my “gig trainer acceleration library,” where you can access all of the resources I mentioned, including the online gallery of lesson slides. There are 46 slides.

These visually attractive slides are meant to guide you with talking points as you spend time with your student.

If you want to be fancy, you can put them on an iPad, OR you can have them printed out and then make a lesson presentation binder, OR put the slides on your phone.

These slides will be of great help, and they will make it a lot easier to have things to talk about with your student. This slide collection is included free in my services & support package to you.

To help you speak more in-depth about the talking points on the lesson slides is “The Trainer’s Deep Dive Lesson Expansion Guide.” This material is meant to help you be a better educator. It is included free as well.

  1. In addition, also included in the acceleration library are my correspondence templates. When a prospective student emails you, I’ve got these templates all set to go for you. I wrote them to help you sell your training services better. All you have to do is decide upon your pricing and put your name in the email. There currently are 14 correspondence templates. This should be a tremendous help to you.

  2. Part of your training service pitch is the student doesn’t just get a single day of training with you — they also get a 42 day email training course to reinforce what they learned and to expand upon their training. This is a perk I am also providing free to you. This email course has been painstakingly crafted and is high quality material. It will reflect well on you and add perceived value to the investment the student made in hiring you.

  3. During the training day, you should snap a few shots of your student. They will have been previously informed of your intention to take these shots in the correspondence templates I prepared for you. These photos might later be used in your marketing efforts.

  4. After the student’s day of training with you, you will immediately send the student another email template I prepared. It asks them to sign-up for the email lesson course, which is part of the training package you sold them on, and it asks them to provide YOU with a testimonial, if they feel you did a good job with teaching them.

Some of these testimonials and student photos will go on your pitch page at GigCoach.net to enhance the credibility and persuasiveness of your pitch page. Adding this commentary and imagery to your pitch page is another thing I am doing for you for free, while I can as a sole operator. After I get too busy, that is going to change.

I recommend you have an eye towards developing your own supplemental pitch page in the near future, where you can rapidly post all of your student testimonials, their photos and stories. (When you get it ready, I will place the link to your supplemental pitch page on your main pitch page.)

Rapidly get the know-how..

My program includes how to

handle students

when there is no action at the restaurants.

If your market is anything like mine, there probably will be times when it’s slow.

We need to have a plan for when that happens while you are conducting training.

That’s what my “Weak Order Flow Training Toolkit” is for. I put a lot of thought into this.

Because we don’t want to have do-overs. There’s no:

“Oh, I’m sorry it’s so slow. Let’s reschedule for tomorrow.”

None of that!

You’re probably wondering:

“Ed, what the hell do I charge?”

“How much can I make?”

Gotcha. I was getting to that.

Here is the pricing formula that I think will work:

One day of training: $400.

This could be a breakfast and lunch, or a lunch and dinner.

Important: You drive the student around in YOUR car, because you don’t know what kind of driver the student is. You control the driving to increase your level of safety.

You do deliveries using the student’s phone and the student’s accounts.

All the delivery money that gets made, including any post-delivery bonus tips — is the student’s money.

If you need to also use your phone and your accounts to get orders, then you pay that money to the student at the end of the day. Yes, you front the money. Because you know it’s coming in. And because it is a task that is simply best to get done and over with. (Why add clutter to your process? Pay it out and be done with it.)

Your pay is the training fee they paid you.

Since $400 sounds like a lot, you put emphasis on how all the delivery money made during training is the student’s money, so not only are they getting all sorts of great experience and knowledge on their training day, they are also making money on Day 1. It’s a smart buy for them, and this very fair deal structure should make selling your service easy.

(Don’t give any guarantees on what they will make.)

The benefit to you is you know what you will be making when you start your day.

  • It doesn’t matter if you make an example out of doing a low-paying order.

  • It doesn’t matter if a restaurant is slow to hand over the order, or

  • if a slow-moving 2 mile long train held you up. However the day goes you make your $400, minus your vehicle expenses.

In the materials you get with my offer, I have thoughts on how to sell an extra day of training. It should be helpful.

After you get consistently booked up, after you’ve gotten a good number of testimonials from your satisfied students (social proof increases trust), and when it has become clear there is demand for your training services, that’s when you begin nudging up your pricing.

But Ed, have you done gig coaching yourself?

Hell no!

I can’t be having strangers in my car, farting in my car, breathing on me, and stuff like that.

(I’m kidding — sort of.)

The situation is I have spent an ENORMOUS amount of time doing the idea development work, and I have just crossed the finish line.

All this tinkering and contemplation and writing and design work is something I have very much enjoyed.

Being in this sort of creative arena is my wheelhouse. Seeing better ways to do things just comes naturally to me.

I could have kept all of my ideas proprietary and gone on to conquer the world myself.

But I figured out there’s a way I can help others get rich (YOU) while receiving a benefit in return. It’s a very creative set-up.

I’ll explain…

What you see above is my “Big Mileage Form.”

I am going to sell this form to your students.

My position is I don’t trust mileage tracking apps.

Merely looking through mileage tracking app reviews it is clear these apps are not 100% perfect or 100% reliable for everybody. That is a problem, and it’s not good enough.

Another problem is the risk of ransomware attacks against mileage tracking app companies. Their customers will be screwed while the impacted app company spends days or even weeks trying to negotiate a lower ransom. And will they even pay it?

My mileage deduction was over $19,000 for 2023. That’s HUGE!

The standard mileage deduction is just too important and too valuable to trust to a mileage tracking app.

The old fashioned pen and paper method is the safest way to document business-related miles.

I have a terrific, best-of-its-kind form that I developed specifically for food delivery gig work over a 2 year period.

My successful efforts to sell the pdf file to this form is what will provide for the (free) on-going business guidance and support for you, the gig trainer.

The way I see it, if you succeed, then I will succeed.

It’s a terrific win/win situation for you, me, and the students, because they will come out of this being way more sophisticated than the average newcomer.

For this to work, I need your support.

I figure if I give you a ton of value, there will be reciprocity.

I need you not to hinder or undermine my efforts to sell my $20 form file.

My 42 day email course, which you use to enhance the value of your training package, will make an appropriate pitch to the student to purchase the pdf form file in Lesson 2 while emphasizing the importance of documenting all business related miles.

Besides getting the Big Mileage Form, the student also gets useful extras at no extra cost. This includes:

  • Hourly Rate Computation Table (11 x 17 inches)

  • Minute Conversion Tables (8½ x 11 inches)

  • Post Shift Order Analysis Form (8½ x 14 inches)

  • e-book titled: “The Professional Gig Driver’s Guide To Appropriate Tip Soliciting.”

You can examine this offer in further detail HERE.

It’s an excellent value.

After making the purchase, the student gets access to the files. From there it’s as simple as placing an online print order through their local Fedex Office store or copy shop. Probably by the next day they will have their copies and can begin using them immediately.

Great idea Ed… but who’s going to spend $400 on training?

The Most Interesting Opportunity Here Is Older Adults…

Older adults are the low hanging fruit.

Why focus on older adults?

  • Because they are more likely to have the financial resources to pay for a training program, whether from savings, retirement pay, or credit card availability.

  • Because they are less likely to have friends in the business to give them pointers on how it’s done.

  • Because they are more likely to value and appreciate additional guidance and support when navigating new technological platforms.

  • And because gig work offers a level playing field, providing equal opportunities regardless of age, which can be especially appealing in a job market where age discrimination is unfortunately still prevalent.
    .
Check out this video at the “Laugh Lines & Life Lessons” Youtube channel. She provides good insights about what it is like to lose a $180,000/year job at age 54.
    (SHE CAN’T GET AN INTERVIEW!)
And now she is hustling, driving passengers around to pay the bills
    .

My guess is there will be a lot more people in 2025 similar to her who will be struggling to get interviews after being let go from their well-paying government jobs — judging from the current republican chatter about how government is going to be slimmed down.

Here is another source for you to check out: reddit.com/r/recruitinghell

For many, it is a real and emotionally brutal struggle to be in the hunt for a job.

Overall, I believe older adults are more likely to see that it simply makes sense to spend a few bucks to greatly accelerate their learning curveso they will avoid the struggles and countless mistakes that other brand new rookies certainly make and so that they advance to being confident, competent and successful at a much quicker pace.

This sort of help has
MONETARY VALUE.

Even just to have one day of in-the-field training can remove a great amount of stress and increase their confidence tremendously.

It is so needed, and training isn’t just good for older adults. All newcomers need training!

BUT NOBODY IS DOING IT.

There are no professional trainers who have a structured, well-thought-out program.

Another thing…

According to the American College Of Lifestyle Medicine there are 6 pillars of health:

  • Nutrition

  • Movement

  • Sleep

  • Avoidance of Substances

  • Social Connection

  • Stress Management

Especially for older adults, it is much better for them to be getting in and out of their cars, walking back and forth to restaurants to pick-up orders, and then upon arriving at the customer’s location, getting out of their car again and then doing the order-drop-off… and getting back in their car.

That is a lot of movement. It is much better than sitting around at home.

For me, the work is very low stress. There’s no boss. It doesn’t matter if I’m late. I can choose to blow-off a shift or quit early if I want. For newcomers, with your training, they will soon find this work is low-stress for them too.

So there may actually be some health benefits to doing this sort of non-sedentary work.

Let’s review 2 things:

  • What you can do for brand new rookies, and

  • Why anybody would still want to do this work.

Number 1:

Take a look at this “Upside To Training” graphic.

You know that all beginners have a definite learning curve. It’s “LEARN AS YOU GO.” It takes a long time to figure everything out. Some never learn all the things they should.

This is the way it has always been.

But now there is a new method. It is an accelerated learning method that YOU can provide.

For the trainee, it’s like pressing the easy button. They can buy their way into “skipping the struggle” and begin gig work with a much faster learning curve.

Trainees set themselves on a path to much more quickly become proficient, savvy players of the game compared to their untrained counterparts.

Developing know-how and sophistication more quickly leads to greater work satisfaction, lower stress, more confidence, smarter choices, and better money.

Getting trained is simply the smart choice. It’s an investment that should easily generate rapid payback for the trainee. And even better: the cost of their training is a tax deductible business expense.

It really is a no-brainer.

Number 2:

Why would anyone still want to do this work after the pay cuts, after many areas have become saturated with drivers, and with gasoline prices probably heading up again?

YOU might be negative on these gig work opportunities by now, but others are looking at the apps and thinking food delivery gig work might just be perfect for them.

The flexibility is tremendous. That’s what has been fantastic for me. Again, it’s no big deal if I am late to start my shift, or if I never show-up. I can quit early. It is all at my whim. And there is no boss.

This type of schedule flexibility is a major plus.

There are all kinds of reasons why people would want to try working for the apps.

Here’s how I see it:

A percentage of them will have no interest in hiring a trainer. But others will think that a trainer might be exactly what they need to help push them through whatever mental barriers or hesitations they have about starting.

And then there are those who don’t really need to have their hand held as they enter a new field of work, but instead see the logical benefits that training can bring them. And they view these benefits as compelling.

I believe a market for gig training services will come together. Why? Because it makes sense. And because the continual bleeding out of experienced gig workers along with the reeling in of brand new gig workers never ends.

YOUR VALUE AS A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PROVIDER WILL NEVER BE RECOGNIZED BY AN APP COMPANY.

You’ve probably done thousands of deliveries involving thousands of hours.

BECOMING A GIG TRAINER HAS REAL POTENTIAL

If this venture resonates with you, join my program. It’s the fastest way to launch your training service.

I try to avoid using hype to sell stuff. However, I really do feel — for some of you reading this — you are on the cusp of a major breakthrough where the power dynamic gets switched around.

Right now, the app companies have the power over you.

  • They set the non-negotiable terms of the contractual relationship.

  • They determine the pay per order, not you.

  • They decide whether to match you with the worst orders or not.

  • They decide whether to keep you or abruptly betrayal fire you. You have zero protections.

And you're left gambling on hidden tips like a desperate and obsessed slot machine player… and clinging to hope for unlikely monetary handouts from customers upon delivery.

In this arrangement, where you are undervalued and your time is too often disrespected, you are the weak and they are the strong.

However…

…when you work for yourself as an independent gig trainer, guess who determines the pay?

You do!

You have the power to set your own pricing.

I think $400 for a day of training plus the 42 day email training course (which I provide) is reasonable and do-able in my market. You can go for more if you want, of course. (Where you set your pricing is at your discretion.)

And part of switching the power around is they can’t fire you from your training venture.

Only you can fire you. And how would that work? I do have concerns that some drivers will start a training service and then sabotage their future success.

This can happen when trainers accept engagements with students, take their money, and then blow them off. That’s how a reputation gets ruined. The story might even make it into the local newspaper.

If you are not mature enough to conduct your business dealings with honor, please don’t buy access into my program. The in-field gig training industry needs serious, fair and honorable participants who will be professionals that uplift the industry.

I have another crazy diagram for you…

What I am trying to show here is that we are never going to get raises.

When it comes to food delivery app companies… their motivation is to drive their share price higher and to cultivate increasing demand.

Making their service more expensive by paying drivers more fairly just isn’t going to happen.

And when one cuts the pay, it will probably force the others to cut their pay to remain competitive.

If you’re doing this, let me say…

This won’t be a piece of cake.

It’s not a slam dunk.

  • You have preparations to make,

  • studying to do,

  • and you have to figure out how to attract customers in your particular market.

You’re going to need focus, maturity, and perseverance.

The reality is not every gig worker is cut out for this. In fact, I think only a small minority of gig workers have what it takes. Like 5% or less. But if you are one of those people, if you can break through, then I believe you have a real shot at doing very well.

Here are the
steps forward:

  1. Let’s get your business cards ordered. I’ve got 2 designs below. Select one and buy 1000 business cards from me. This will demonstrate to me that you have a level of commitment to the endeavor. In the checkout process will be a space where you tell me the name you want printed on your cards.

INCLUDED: I will create your “training service pitch page” on GigCoach.net (or a similar branded site) and a link to this page will be on your new business cards. This page will be just like my sample pitch page at: gigcoach.net/sample

Before I have your new cards printed, I am going to send you a business card “proof” to approve. I will just need you to verify that I spelled your name correctly.

At this time I will ask you for: 2 photos of you that I will put on your pitch page; I will verify that the email you are using to communicate with me is the email your want on your pitch page, and I will ask if you would like to include your delivery stats on your pitch page (similar to what is on the sample).

By the way, I am a PROFESSIONAL-LEVEL PHOTOGRAPHER. For a limited time, if by chance you can come to Media, Pennsylvania (Philadelphia suburbs), I’ll photograph you for free in Media on State Street and I’ll pick 2 photos from that collection for your pitch page. You can also use those images however you want.

REGARDING YOUR PHOTO SUBMISSIONS… everybody is making a quality effort here, because we are playing to win. This means:
    - No sunglasses.
    - Not hats that hide your face.
    - No hiding at all.

You in the bathroom mirror isn’t good enough.

You with your friends from 5 years ago isn’t good enough.

You from 100 feet away at the Grand Canyon isn't good enough. Yes, it might be a beautiful shot, but the audience isn’t interested in scenery. They are much more interested in knowing more about who they will be dealing with if they choose to hire you.

I very much believe in humanizing businesses and showing the people and personalities behind whatever product or service is being offered. For your pitch page I want you to provide me with high quality photos of yourself. Because we are selling YOU and your personal brand.

  2. The next step is I think you should order some apparel that prominently says “DELIVERY TRAINER” on it, which you will wear every time you are out doing deliveries, whether with a student or not. If you are carrying a branded thermal bag while wearing your DELIVERY TRAINER jacket, vest, or shirt, it will make it easier for people in restaurants and stores to begin a conversation with you about what exactly you do. (Then you hand them your business card!) The sooner you get that ordered the better. I will provide a link to my DELIVERY TRAINER jacket vendor after I receive your business card order.

  3. Also after I receive your business card order, I am going to send you a link to my “gig trainer acceleration library,”

So let’s sum things up…

If you decide to proceed forward from here by purchasing your business cards from me, you will then get:

Extensive support for zero dollars.

It’s a tremendous deal.

Just buy the business cards and give me a chance to be successful in selling my big mileage form file to your students.

If you are hesitating, this line of thinking might help:

What will it cost you NOT to do this?

  • What is the probability of you failing and not getting a return on your $85 investment?

  • How many sales will it take for you to recover your $85 investment?

  • If you delay, what will happen if somebody else seizes the first mover advantage in your market area?

  • Do you think this is pie-in-the-sky, or could it really work?

  • Does it make sense?

Is the potential of the venture worth your time, effort and expense?

Is this a good risk/reward scenario for you?

Think it out.

I shot these photos.

(I’ve got another cover coming…)

As of the time I am writing this in late November 2024, I don’t know if my offer will resonate with people. I believe it will. But it’s just a guess.

For just in case food delivery gig drivers go wild over this, I have installed a “circuit breaker” in the e-commerce function of this site.

If I get too many orders too quickly, my little store will stop the intake of new orders.

I am just a one man operation and I want to avoid a situation where it could take months to fulfill everybody’s orders, which I would find stressful because it’s important to me that I provide good service. (Just trying to think-out all the scenarios here.)

If the circuit breaker closes the shop, you will have an opportunity to get on a wait list and I will email you when I am onboarding new gig trainers again.

The ways it works is this site has no ability to reserve a place in line. It will be first come, first served again.

Another thing, I am not assigning territories. If you need further clarity on that, here is my fairly extensive Q & A page. It covers a bunch of topics.

If you want in, click on one of those business cards below.

I am looking forward to our collaboration

We are playing to win

Let's do this!

I am looking forward to our collaboration • We are playing to win • Let's do this! •

How ambitious are you?

You begin as a solo independent trainer of brand new food delivery gig drivers. But it is possible you can grow into a full-fledged training agency with multiple specialists for the various gig apps working under you.

What if you had 20 trainers out with students every day? And what if you cleared $100 off of every student engagement your trainers had?

After conquering your metropolitan area, then you engage in a “land and expand” campaign, selecting the most promising markets first, where you open additional training agencies in other regions.

I would be delighted to collaborate with any hotshot entrepreneurs going for it big-time. All I want is cooperation with plugging my “big mileage form” file.

A training agency enterprise adds substantial complication.

  • There is enhanced legal risk. If one of your trainers is in an accident while working for you, that is a great area of concern. You need to set-up the business in a way that maximizes your protection from that sort of risk.

  • Or if you make a bad hire and a trainer beats up a student over something stupid, that’s a liability problem for you.

  • You need to be sure you properly classify your trainers. If you hire them as independent contractors and it is later determined they are actually employees and you misclassified them, that will be a major problem for you.

It is a very ambitious undertaking to go from solo trainer to training agency. The journey to getting there begins with the first small step.

Another possibility is…

… starting up a Youtube channel that focuses on your journey of starting up a gig training business.

If you are going that route, please recommend to your audience that they get started by going to: GigCoach.net

If you are doing a good job, I’ll be happy to plug your channel to my audience.

Let’s think of this as a 5 year plan.

You’re not just giving it a try. Rather, you are really going for it.

Whether it takes a few weeks or half a year, you are going to make this work.

It becomes a business building assembly line.

Each student you get is a win.

  • You get photos of them during their training time with you.

  • You get written testimonials from them after their training day.

  • You load up your supplemental pitch page with this powerful social proof. And with some of these testimonials, you put them in a series of advertisements. (It’s probably best to get their consent to use their imagery in an ad.)

Your success leads to more success. And when you are comfortable with it and the time is right, because you see the demand, you begin to nudge up your pricing. Getting busy helps you arrive at that point.

Looking into the future, a lot of change is ahead. We don’t know how food delivery gig work will change.

  • Regulatory changes could interfere.

  • Robotic delivery machines could interfere.

  • New approaches could change the business.

It is really unclear. But I think we have a good few years in front of us.

So let’s look at this as having a 5 year runway. And maybe it will be longer. But if we’re thinking we have 5 years, there is a lot we can achieve in 5 years.

If you feel your market will support this idea and you are going for it and you don’t land a student after a 2 or 4 week effort, don’t get discouraged. It could take time to get traction and then momentum.

Look at the big picture. The potential is there. Persevere. Grind it out.

Figure out the marketing formula for your area. And then give your students a quality educational experience to earn their positive testimonials, so that you can use previous customers to sell your service to new customers.

If you’re going for it, you’ve got to run your business as a professional should. And you need to be organized.

This pdf form file is waiting for you in my “gig trainer acceleration library.”

Organization and structure will be one of your keys to making results happen.

The services & support package I prepared for you includes this 11x17 inch lead pipeline pdf form.

Every time you get a potential customer, you assign them a lead number and begin using the correspondence templates to steer your leads towards making a buying decision.

These correspondence templates are worth a lot — because they are masterpieces of sales writing. And I am including them for free as well.

Leads have definite monetary value. And you certainly don’t want to lose business because you’re disorganized. My correspondence templates make it easy to work your leads while coming across as a professional who has their act together.

Template #6 does 3 important things:

  1. thanks the student for hiring you,

  2. asks them to write you a testimonial, which previous templates said you were going to do,

  3. and sends them to the email course sign-up page (free), where students get a ton of additional value and where I get to appropriately pitch my big mileage form to them.

If too much time goes by and your student still has not emailed you a testimonial about their experience with you, then I have a sequence of email templates that you hit them with — because good, authentic testimonials can be very helpful with your marketing efforts, and you should try hard to get them.

After assigning a lead number to the prospect, you also prepare a customer information sheet that gets that same lead number and goes in your “ACTIVE” binder.

(Yes, I have a form for that too. This is part of the lead & customer management system I custom developed for the in-field gig trainer opportunity. It’s going to make keeping track of things so much easier.)

Have you seen this?

This blue and yellow graphic is a section from the “training service pitch page” template.

Go take a look at the template.

Your pitch page is going to be like that template. And the business cards I make for you will link to YOUR pitch page on this website or a similar gigcoach branded site.

By now, you should be able to see that participants in my gig trainer program get a massive and very fast boost.

I’ve done A LOT of work to help you get a fast start.

I WANT my program participants to become successful so that I get a steady stream of prospects I can pitch my big mileage form to.

We both can win. And your students too.

You do not need a lot of leads to make this business work.

If you close one-third of your leads, then you need just 15 leads per week to stay busy 5 days a week.

If you can close half your leads, then you only need 10 leads per week to stay busy 5 days per week. And we are not factoring in add-on training that you might be able to sell to some of your students.

The more effective you are at working your leads and bringing them to the point of making a positive buying decision, the less you have to spend on advertising. So it makes sense to do the best you can at converting your leads into actual customers.

Okay, here we are at the crossroads.

This is the juncture where you can pivot from being at the mercy of the gig economy to becoming its master.

Do you want to stay on the path of being a regular gig worker, or do you want to make a turn towards becoming a gig expert, where you position yourself to break through your current income ceiling and unlock a lifestyle of greater financial freedom and personal success?

I believe this is all within reach.

First mover advantage.

This is the start of the in-field gig training industry. Food couriers who are first to grab this opportunity have the chance to cement themselves as the pioneer and leader of food delivery gig training in their area.

If you’ve been doing food delivery gig work for a while then you have one of the most important qualifications necessary to become a gig trainer, which is experience.

It is my belief that the earnings ceiling you currently are dealing with can be lifted up by promoting yourself to trainer.

All of your experience and know-how in the business doesn’t have to go to waste. It can be used as your foundation for your new training enterprise.
